One day a small child into a popular restaurant. With cheerful steps and a bit of a run, the little boy sitting in one of the benches empty in there. "Very Winners." He muttered. The little boy then raised his arm to call one waitress. A maid soon came over the little boy with a diet book.
"Shall we order something, kid?" Ask the waitress. "How much is a serving of ice cream sprinkled with strawberries and chocolate?" The boy asked, pointing at one of the images displayed on the walls of the restaurant.
"2 Dollar." Answer with a friendly waiter. The child then reached into his pocket and pulled out some coins and count loose change. "If the ice cream without strawberries and chocolate, how much?". "One dollar." Replied the waitress with a bit strange.
The boy was then put his hand into another pocket, he issued coins again, and began to count them. "If the ice cream without strawberries and chocolate, and just half the portion of just how much?" "Half a Dollar!" Replied the waitress was a little abrupt. "Well, my message is all." Said the boy again.
The waiter soon returned to the kitchen. A few moments later the waiter returned to the table the child, carrying his order. The boy was soon eating ice cream with gusto. After finished eating ice cream, the waiter returned to see the boy holding a memorandum of payment.
"All of a half dollar." Said the waiter, handing a note to the child. The child then took out all his own dime and handed it to the waiter. "This is a half dollar." He said. Later, the boy's hand reached into his back pocket and pulled out a 10 dollar bill. "And these tips for you." The boy said, handing it 10 dollars.
(Author unknown - excerpted from the book "Six Great Lesson" by Mary Jane)
Often people only see things from the outside. Even I myself often experience it. Busyness and complexity of everyday events can make someone forget to 'see more of' those around him.Very fair if a person who already wear Jackets begin to underestimate the people who only use a T-Shirt.
But the above story reminds me again, that something precious sometimes arise from things that are mediocre. Fortune can come from unexpected directions, that the human eye is sometimes too narrow to be able to see the spectrum of personality. Like the rain that still could go down as the sun was blazing .. like this afternoon.
The moral of the story contained above was:
1. Do not see someone from the outside or the appearance only.
2. Do not underestimate something trivial, remember that great things start from something trivial.
Hopefully this story can be quite valuable lesson for those who read it .. including me ..
